Meet Amie – a Brit who fell in love with China at 18 years old
I first travelled to China at 18-years old during summer before starting university. I loved it so much that I decided to defer my entry to uni, and apply instead to study Mandarin Chinese.
Over the last 14 years i’ve studied at universities in Beijing, Hangzhou and Shanghai. In 2016 I also picked up a job at the British Embassy in Beijing, working as a civil servant. To date, I’ve been to China over 29 times (!)
I tied the knot with my Chinese wife in 2021 and we currently live in the UK, regularly returning to China to visit family and friends. We plan to relocate back to China next year, and are excited to share our journey with you!
My hope with this brand is to somehow bridge the divide between East and West. There are many misconceptions around China that I hope to expose and address in my own way. China is one of the most extraordinary countries I’ve ever had the privilege to visit, and I hope to help other likeminded people with their trips to China.
